Nice Price

Mounted the motor and took it to the river, worked as it should. Will have to take some time learning how to use the remote, this is my first bow mount trolling motor.

$600 motor with $3000 features

Can say enough about this motor. Was hesitant about buying a off brand, but now very happy I did. Installed on a 18 foot ski and fish, and rarely use gas motor.

No major complaints, impressive CS, minor gripes

It trolls at low speed silently, for my boat gear 5+ gets a little more vibration/noise then I would like but it’s not obnoxious and YEMV. Going from 9 to 10 is like turbo mode, can get you out of or into trouble quickly. I like that it will gently accelerate when you press the full speed button vs a quick jerk.

On my kayak, solid cruising on speed 8 (of 10) with a 50ah LiFePO4, it went 9.2 miles which is about .75 miles less than my 36lb transom mount, but slightly faster with 4mph top speed vs 3.5. Not too bad considering it’s double the weight and pressing the bow down in the water. The added thrust was noticeable and very appreciated in high headwind.

I really wish they had a 36”-40” shaft as it’s a perfect choice for more casual and budget minded kayak anglers but it needs cut down on a kayak as it might get in the way..

I also wish I could easily buy backup supplies like prop, wrench, nut etc but seems you have to go through customer service.

The remote is responsive and the motor doesn’t lag but it doesn’t seem to have a very strong signal unless it’s a clear view like needed for an IR remote. It sometimes wouldn’t register while in my lap.

Somehow the plastic broke where the lanyard clips in, I was just sitting on the kayak cruising so I don’t know what could’ve happened. Clipping to the thicker part puts it upside down. It could’ve been really interesting if it dropped in the water at full speed! They sent me a tracking number for a new one and shipped within 24 hours without any hassle.

I also find the remote too big and thick compared to other brands, it needs either bigger or smaller, it’s awkward sometimes. I give the remote 3 stars, my only disappointment.

I had two minor issues at first that customer service promptly answered my emails and solved them. I was worried about the CS giving me the run around as is common with these type products but so far so good.

I can replace this every year for almost 4 years to reach the price of other brands, especially for salt water, so unless my experience goes sour somehow, I’ll be sticking to this until spot lock prices reduce.
